The Power of Inclusion: Celebrating the Inspiring Stories of Award-Winning Author, Olamidotun Votu-Obada.
In a world where diversity and inclusion are more important than ever, it’s a breath of fresh air to come across an author who embodies the spirit of acceptance and promotes unity through their work.
For this reason, Olamidotun Votu-Obada, the talented wordsmith who has made a name for herself by championing inclusivity and inspiring countless readers around the globe, was nominated and awarded the Community Spirit Award for Equity, Diversity & Inclusion in Oakville, Ontario Canada amongst many other candidates in the town of Oakville.
In the words of Oakville Community Spirit Award –
“Olamidotun Votu-Obada is worthy of the Community Spirit Award for her dedication to teaching valuable principles to the most significant members of our society, children. The world around her and Oakville has been profoundly impacted by her My Inspire Books and readings, as she has opened up the eyes of children to possibilities and a bright future. The reach of her books is international and benefits children in and out of Oakville and Africa.
She has happily read these books in schools in the Halton District. Watching her freely inspire children with her books about African heroes and picture books on self- love and improving self-image has been a pleasure. Her audience benefits regardless of race, colour or age.
During Black History Month 2024, she also kindly held a book launch that facilitated the sharing of African history and inspiring lifestyles among people of all races and colors. A number of people, including the mayor of Oakville and a couple of MPs from Oakville, were present at the book launch. It was a great and impactful event for children and ad like.”
It is with great honour that Inspire Central Publishing Inc & Olamidotun Votu-Obada won this award celebrating the impact of our books in promoting inclusion and diversity.
