As the world celebrated Black History Month 2024, Olamidotun Votu-Obada was recognized for her outstanding contributions to literature. She was awarded an honorary award for her outstanding book launch during the month-long celebration. 

Olamidotun’s inspiring books are a remarkable achievement and a testament to her dedication to storytelling and her unwavering commitment to amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities. As a black author, she has always been driven by a passion to share the stories of her people, to illuminate the struggles and triumphs of Africans, while promoting inclusion and diversity. The well-deserved honorary award was bestowed upon Olamidotun Votu-Obada by Hon. Stephen Crawford, Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP), Ontario, Canada.
